Karina Mann (she/her) is the creator of Bean's Beads. Her brand is handcrafted floral jewellery that she promote and sell on Instagram. Karina makes bracelets, necklaces and anklets. She started off making necklaces for herself after seeing a beautiful beaded floral bracelet that someone was wearing in public, but she couldn’t find anything like it online to buy. After buying some different coloured beads and making a necklace for her own personal collection, a few friends asked Karina to make them one as well. Having nothing to do due to lockdown, she spent hours shipping her jewellery around the country to university friends and friends from home. After Karina realised that there could be a demand for her beads, and after a lot of encouragement from friends, she hopped on Instagram and made a page for them!

What started out as a lockdown hobby has turned into a small business for Karina and she has loved every second. 'I’ve been overwhelmed with the positive response I’ve received so far and can’t wait to grow my business further! I have some very exciting new designs coming soon including personalised jewellery and pieces that include real freshwater pearls.'

Karina's creations are perfect to be given as gifts or just as a treat for yourself! Another lovely way that Karina has seen them being enjoyed is as a set of friendship bracelets. 'If you and your friends are heading off to university scattered around the country – what better way to keep a little memory of each other on you all the time?!'

Karina told us, 'when I’m not crafting jewellery, I’m a second year Marketing student at the University of Liverpool and I’m originally from Hertfordshire. My love of arts and crafts stemmed from my Art A Level studies and I’m so glad I’ve rediscovered how therapeutic it can be to have a creative outlet. I’m very excited to continue creating beautiful new designs!'
